All UIM motors can be directly connected to the user's computer/PLC/industrial computer, but a UIM gateway may be required.
To connect the motor to a computer, it is recommended to use the UIM2523 (Ethernet-CAN) gateway or the UIM2513 (RS232-CAN) gateway.

Normally, you just need to connect the CAN-H and CAN-L wires and add a resistor. While our system uses standard CAN, there are many third-party interfaces on the market that cannot cover all possible configurations.
To send commands, refer to page 22 of the UIM342 manual and the documentation for the Arduino MCP2515. For driver support, please contact the Arduino manufacturer or seek their technical support.

Currently, StepEva3 does not support third-party applications like Raspberry Pi.

Since UIM motors are integrated units, the encoder/decoder is not exposed to users. In fact, after receiving the encoder feedback, the motor controller converts it internally to adapt to different microstep settings configured by the user.

UIM CM/CA series motors can be controlled using an Arduino or other microcontroller boards by connecting them to the UIM2513 (RS232-CAN Gateway) or UIMCP2515 (SPI-CAN Gateway).
